Activities at Waltham House Care Home

Activities & Leisure Pursuits

Waltham House Care Home, Grimsby has a dedicated activities organiser who provides activities and leisure pursuits tailored to your preferences. We have a four weekly activity rota which is subject to change at your request.

Getting out and about

Our wheelchair friendly minibus means that everyone can get out and about to enjoy a change of scenery. Residents enjoy frequent trips out whether it be in or around Lincolnshire, or a planned longer trip to areas of interest, museums, or scenic tours. We’ve even been known to take an impromptu trip for an ice cream on the sea front.

Let us entertain you

We have a range of talented entertainers that visit the home. This can range from singers and actors to dancers and reminiscence entertainment.  You can, should you wish, take part in exercise classes – ‘Stay fit with Chris’ classes have proved very popular with the residents. So much so that Chris now visits twice each month! We even have animal meet and greets from dogs and other small pets to the more exotic residents of the animal kingdom.

We provide ‘occupational’ activity sessions which enable those residents that wish, the opportunity to re-visit their working life through a series of activities. These sessions are particularly beneficial to our residents living with dementia. Read more here why nostalgia practices are helping those with dementia.

Events and Community

We often arrange themed evenings in line with current events, cultural world events and significant occasions for residents and staff.

Our links with the local community mean the local school children always provide a carol service at Christmas which is a particular favourite with the residents. We have also developed a friendship group with Holton-Le-Clay school, where we exchange visits with each other and enjoy spending time doing various activities with the children.
