First Carers Coffee Morning – Wednesday 26th July
Following on from National Carer’s Week, here at Waltham House we have recently introduced a ‘Carer’s Coffee Morning’ which is open to anyone in the community who provides care or support for the elderly.
Making a difference
Although the care of our residents is of course our main priority, we also want to give something back to the community. Caring can be an extremely rewarding experience, but for some it can certainly take it’s toll. Looking after a loved one either in the latter stages of their life, particularly palliative care can be isolating, stressful and both emotionally and physically exhausting. But you are not alone, we are here to support you.
Support and advice
These coffee mornings that we are organising are designed to give carers a little time to themselves, offering information, support and advice. And if you are really worried about leaving your relative or friend behind, why not bring them along – we provide day care services for a few hours, or even a full day. With over 6.5 million carers in the UK, it can still feel quite lonely. This is where we come in, we want to help you.
When & where
Our first carers coffee morning will be on Wednesday 26th July, between 10 – 11am here at Waltham House. It is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, who are in the same position as you are. We are here to support you, and offer the very best advice we can. Even if you don’t feel up to staying for the full hour just pop in for a cuppa and some cake. You are more than welcome.
