Palliative Care in Grimsby

We understand that Palliative Care is a sensitive but vital provision and as such, endeavour to deliver the service with care and dignity. Waltham House Care Home, Grimsby will provide palliative care in line with your or your family member’s/carer’s wishes and preferences wherever achievable.

Collaborative Working

Our in-house team is supported by a number of external services including the District Nurse team, GPs, Macmillan Nurses and any other services as required. We work closely with these outside organisations to ensure a coherent service and the highest level of care is met for you or your loved one.

Palliative Care with you in mind

The aim of palliative care is to ensure you are as comfortable as possible by managing your pain and any other distressing symptoms of your illness. Your palliative care can also incorporate psychological, spiritual and social support for both you and your family and/or carers. This is often called a ‘holistic approach’ as it deals with you as a person and not just your illness.

Dignity and Respect

We will work alongside you where appropriate or your family to ensure you are as comfortable as possible and that your remaining time is spent with the dignity and respect you deserve by creating and managing a comprehensive palliative care plan. This will ensure you will receive the highest quality of care and support throughout the process, and as with all our care plans, it will be amended accordingly by your keyworker should your needs or wishes change.
